Frequently Asked Question

  • How does escrow work?

Online escrow is a five-step process. It protects the Seller by verifying funds and protects the Buyer by allowing inspection of the merchandise before funds are disbursed.

  • When I sould to use Red Line Transportation LLC escrow service?

The services offered through Red Line Transportation LLC support most online transactions. It’s ideal for exchanging higher-end items (above $500 in value) that merit the security and peace of mind that Britt Trucking delivers. Typically, our customers use our service when the Buyer and Seller are unknown to each other, for purchases made on auction sites, classified ad sites, business-to-business e-commerce sites, and online merchants.

  • What is the Lien Payoff?

By using the Lien Payoff Service, the Buyer and Seller guarantee that the current lien holder will be paid off at the close of the transaction. After the transaction is started and the Lien Payoff Service requested, Red Line Transportation LLC will contact the Seller to retrieve lien holder contact and account information by requesting Title Release Instructions. Red Line Transportation LLC contacts the current lien holder to confirm the payoff amount and payoff instructions. At the close of the transaction, Britt Trucking sends the payoff check to the lien holder via next business day. Red Line Transportation LLC also includes the Title Release Instructions which requests the title be sent to the new Buyer. Any balance would be sent to the Seller. Please note that not all lien holders allow the title to be sent directly to the new Buyer, some require the title to be sent to the Seller. Lien holders may hold the title until payment clears.

  • The Purchaser can pick up the item from our storage facility?

Corporate staff is working remotely. Red Line Auto Transportation will continue to offer our customers full benefits during this time. As rates of new infections continue to grow in other places, we’re taking additional steps to protect our team members and customers. To ensure the health and safety community, the Red Line Transportation staff is currently conducting all business functions remotely.

  • Is my vehicle fully insured during the car transport?

Yes, your vehicle is fully insured from the moment a carrier picks it up to the time of delivery. We pre-screen every car shipping carrier to ensure they meet all insurance requirements under the Department of Transport (DOT) regulations. How much your vehicle will be insured depends on your vehicle’s value, the type of trailer used, and the company. Typically, an open car transport carrier will offer cargo insurance coverage between $100,000 and $150,000. An enclosed auto transport carrier will offer cargo insurance coverage between $250,000 and $3,000,000.

  • The Purchaser must be present on the day of delivery?

Yes. The Purchaser must be present at shipping address which is written in the Escrow Agreement. The driver transporter will not unload the vehicle without an authorized Purchaser signature on the Bill of Lading.

  • What happens to the item if I refuse it?

If, by any reason, the item does not pass the Purchaser inspection, it will be returned to the Red Line Transportation storage facility, on Seller’s expense and the funds will be returned to the Purchaser in full in within 24 hours.

  • What if I am not available when the transporter delivers my vehicle?

The transporter will call you within 24 hours prior to delivery and make every effort to arrange a schedule that is convenient for you.

  • Will my car be on the trailer at all times?

We require our Carriers to operate in accordance with the contracted agreement and within federal regulations. Unless otherwise specified, your car will be on the trailer from the agreed pick-up point straight through to your specific delivery location. The only time the car will be driven is during loading and unloading.

  • How long does it take for Purchaser's to be refunded?

If, by any reason, the item does not pass the Purchaser’s inspection, it will be returned to the Seller, on Seller’s expense and the funds will be returned to the Purchaser in full in within 24 hours.

  • What is the transport time?

The delivery time is dependent upon your route. Most transports take approximately 3 to 6 days. This is only an average and cannot be more specific due to changes based upon climatic conditions, traffic delays, etc. It is recommended that you discuss this with your agent for up to date conditions.

  • How does the Buyer decline the item sent by the Seller?

The Buyer has the Inspection Period (a length of time agreed to by both parties) to accept the items. If dissatisfied, the Buyer must return the items to the Seller. Once the item is returned, Red Line Auto Transportation will release the funds back to the Buyer. In any case, on return, the Seller is responsible for return shipping fees.
